The Nautical Museum of Santorini is located in the Village
The Nautical Museum of Santorini is located in Oia. It is hosted in an elegant mansion and houses nautical instruments, shipping documents, aquarelles, ship parts, and a small library.
The museum was founded in 1956 and its exhibits present the nautical history and the island's tradition, mostly during the 19th and 20th centuries.
All items on display come with detailed descriptions. The ground floor houses nautical equipment as well as tools with a short description of their use.
Of special interest are the archives and historical documents. On the first floor lie numerous uniforms, portraits, and impressive ship replicas.
The Nautical Museum of Santorini is open every day except for Tuesdays from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 20.00.
